May Project Gardens
We held a one day taster filming session with young people for the I'm on the Wild Side at May Project Gardens in July, 2016. Below we show two short videos which feature the young people who were responsible for deciding the videos' contents. May Project Gardens is a small, highly active and dynamic Community Interest Company which promotes cultural and biological diversity focusing on organic food growing and food security in the London borough of Merton and the protection of green spaces and parks in London. It believes that a diversity of experience, personalities, resources, and views is essential for truly successful and sustainable organisation and outcomes. |
The project uses art, music and other forms of creative expression to engage marginalized communities in organic food production, healthy eating (in general and to reduce increasing rates of obesity) and the conservation of urban parks and green spaces. Many of its activities are designed specifically for young people aged 16-24 who are not in employment, education or training, to help them move forward in life through further education or employment. |
